Proteus Pools are a derivative of the world famous Myrtha Pool System from Italy.
Myrtha Pools was founded in Italy in 1961 and is a world leader in the supply and installation of swimming pools. They have built swimming pools in over 70 countries and have structured and developed their exclusive technologies, specialising in made-to-measure solutions for large completion pools.
As an Official Partner to FINA, the world governing body for swimming, diving, water polo and associated sports, Myrtha Pools are frequently used at Olympic, world and European swimming competition venues.
Proteus Pools have the same pedigree, are designed by the same engineers, are produced in the same factory and utilise the same materials. They are truly a smaller version of a Myrtha pool.
The system sits between a liner pool and a concrete pool in so much as it utilises ceramic, porcelain or stone tiles at water level with high specification vinyl below the tile band. The walls can be either vinyl coated stainless steel or galvanised wall panels and the floor is finished with a 1.5mm thick reinforced vinyl membrane.
Cresta Leisure has been appointed a main dealer for Proteus UK. Our staff have undergone extensive training at Proteus headquarters in Italy and we have completed many pool new builds and refurbishments using the Proteus system. To find out more, please contact us.
The pictures below show the process of a pool refurbishment using the Proteus panel at waterline and an Alkor pre-tailored liner below. And the good news is that the water isn’t green, it is the rather lovely ‘turquoise’ effect produced by the new Touch Sublime Alcor liner.
